Baguio started celebrating its 99th charter day anniversary since September 1. It has also started launching a year-long schedule of activities for the centennial anniversary next year. There were various ceremonies and parades but unfortunately I was not able to attend even one of them.
Anyway, here’s a list of some of the activities this whole month of September as reported in the local newspaper the Baguio Midland Courier:
Sept. 1 – Fun shoot at West Point Shooting Range in Badiwan, Tuba Bengeut; Awarding of Best Barangay History Contest.
Sept. 2 – Turnover of Howard Fry Collection.
Sept. 3 – Yamashita surrender anniversary.
Sept. 6 – Tree planting and Baguio Day Invitational Boxing Tournament at Igorot Garden.
Sept. 7 – Mr. Nick Domalsin Cup Body-building Tilt at the Baguio Convention Center.
Sept. 8-9 – Muay Thai Luzon Invitational Championship at the Igorot Garden.
Sept. 10-13, 17-20 – “King and I” school production at the Saint Louis University Center for Culture and Arts.
