La Trinidad 2009 Strawberry Festival Schedule of Activities

The town of La Trinidad, Benguet also dubbed as “Strawberry Capital” the Philippines is celebrating its 8th Strawberry Festival with this year’s theme “Sustaining Our Gains and Looking Beyond”. The two-week festival started March 8 and will end March 23.
The Agro Trade Fair which is supposed to be showcasing the town’s Strawberry by-products and other agricultural products is being held at the municipal ground and will last until March 23. The “Tiangge at Sari-sari” fair is being held at the public market grounds. If you’re looking for wagwags (second hand clothing) there’s lot of it there.
La Trinidad Strawberry Fields
Aside from Strawberries, La Trinidad is also a top producer of major cut-flowers such as rose, chrysanthemum, and anthuriums. It also produces some of the minor cutflowers that are usually needed in flower arrangements such as aster, baby’s breath, aster, and ferns. The flower arrangement contest will be held on March 19 at 2:00-4:00 PM at the Municipal Gym.
