Baguio 99th Charter Day Anniversary

Baguio started celebrating its 99th charter day anniversary since September 1. It has also started launching a year-long schedule of activities for the centennial anniversary next year. There were various ceremonies and parades but unfortunately I was not able to attend even one of them. This day is the 99th Baguio Charter Day. On September 9, 1909, almost exactly 99 years ago, Baguio which was known as “Kafagway” (meaning rono or tall grasses) was declared as a chartered city and the and at the same time called as the “Summer Capital of the Philippines“.
